Our experienced team provide root canal therapy at our offices. This treatment addresses problems with the root canal – the inner part of the tooth. The root canal contains tissue, known as the "pulp," that extends from the crown of the tooth down through the root to the tip of the tooth. When this tissue becomes damaged or diseased, this can cause pain, swelling, and even damage to the jawbone. When the pulp becomes infected, the tooth can be saved with root canal therapy. This treatment involves replacing the damaged pulp with an artificial material, which prolongs the use of the tooth and, often, eliminates the need for extraction.
PROCEDURE:
Root canal treatment is performed in a manner that is both painless as well as relaxing. Care is given to assure maximum comfort to the patient. To begin the treatment, the dentist administers an anesthetic. When the mouth is fully numb, he removes the damaged pulp and cleans the root canal. Next, he fills the canal with a strong dental material.
